Swaledale sheep are a hearty breed from the hills of England. Their wool often has dark and/or kempy fibers, making it visually busy. These aspects are only highlighted further in dyeing as the kemp will not take the dye. Swaledale is best suited to lined garments or hard-wearing uses such as bags and rugs.
